Christmas. Be on the spiritual lookout for those who need a special touch. One of the sweetest, most encouraging whispers in my ear in the darkest season of my life was, "I miss him, too." Biblical encouragement is not complicated. Just follow God's nudge and you will be the one encouraged.

 I continue to be amazed at how much I need your comfort Sharon. You have nudged me - you have shared your story. This is my second Christmas without my beautiful daughter. The ache deep in the pit of my soul lingers. And it so encouraging to have you understand just what a grieving mother needs. Merry Christmas, Sharon.

 Dear Paulette, Thank you for your encouragement. My heart aches for you. You are so fresh in your grief journey. The second year of grief is often worse than the first. Whatever shock anesthetic we have that first year wears off and the reality of our child's absence is like a hammer in our souls. God's grace is sufficient, but it is not an anesthetic. We will pray that God will give you the gift of a break in the ache in your chest and that you will experience His treasures that will help remind you of His presence, and that He calls you by name.
