Gripping Thoughts with Dr. Chuck Betters

Here is one for all of my "bloggers." I am writing a blog entitled "My Ten Greatest Disappointments with the Church after 40 Years of Ministry." What do you think they are? This will be followed soon by another blog entitled "My Ten Greatest Blessings with the Church after 40 years of Ministry." You can respond by commenting on this blog or emailing me your responses at drbetters@markinc.org.

In His Grip,
Dr. Chuck Betters

Patrick's Gravatar Hi PB,

My view on what are likely your ten disappointments, in no particular order.
1. People denying their faith, yes their Savior, through their daily actions.
2. Being forsaken by alleged "friends".
3. Gossip, Slander and Libel.
4. Lack of follow-through from those who have committed to do.
5. Lazy, uncommitted sheep.
6. "Leech" sheep - those that physically, emotionally and spiritually drain you and leave when they are full from the ministry buffet.
7. Liars.
8. Whiners and complainers.
9. Those who hear and nod, but don't listen and do.
10. The realization of the likely fact that at some point in your life you fit into the above categories. Thank God for His Grace and Mercy. (I definitely fit into all of the above).
11. To sum it into one sentence it would be: People who are "not loving the Lord their God with all of their heart, mind, soul and strength, and people not treating others as they would want to be treated".
