Making Abundant Riches Known In the Name of Christ

Meet Pastor Chuck Betters

Dr. Charles F. Betters has served as Senior Minister of Glasgow Dr. BettersReformed Presbyterian Church in Bear, Delaware, since 1986 and is frequently called upon to address church pastors and leadership all across the country. He is a graduate of the University of Delaware and Eastern Baptist Seminary. He earned his Doctoral degree from Covenant Seminary.

Dr. Betters' previous pastorates include Wissahickon United Methodist Church, Logan United Methodist Church and Red Lion Evangelical Church (Delaware). He has four children and twelve grandchildren. His wife, Sharon Betters, is the author of Treasures of Encouragement and Treasures in Darkness. Dr. Betters and Sharon  co-authored Treasures of Faith.

Through personal verse by verse study of the scriptures, Chuck embraced the doctrines of the Reformed Faith early in his ministry. Chuck's passion for building a spiritual legacy is reflected in his commitment to preach through the scriptures unapologetically.  He tackles hard doctrines and the painful places of life, encouraging listeners that God is not afraid of our questions about the hard places of life.

Chuck's favorite fun things to do are large, noisy, laughter-filled family gatherings,  enjoying his twelve grandchildren, and playing golf with his wife.  He's interested in knowing your recommendations for exciting golf courses and any secrets you can share that will help him break 80.

Beginnings

Dr. Charles (Chuck) Betters often says that the death of his sixteen-year-old son, MARK, "unbolted his family from its love affair with this world." MARKINC Ministries is one of the products of that "unbolting." One of the tasks of MARKINC is to equip the people of God for "kingdom building." We see ourselves as partnering with pastors and church leaders as we search for new ways of sharing not only the Good News of salvation but the practical scriptural message of how God expects us to respond to His great compassion and love.

For reasons known only to Him, God has chosen to build His Kingdom through broken, needy people who often feel inadequate and ill-equipped for the tasks at hand. There are many believers scattered throughout the world who struggle to stay focused on our Savior as they walk the pathway God has marked out for them. Sometimes it is a lonely journey, especially for the church planters, missionaries, or people who live in an area where there is no sound Bible teaching.

Similar to the miracle of the loaves and fishes, God took the small beginnings of our one broadcast and multiplied it into numerous television and radio broadcasts, an internet presence, and numerous resources designed to energize, equip and encourage those who struggle to walk by faith in the pathway God has marked out for each of them.  We often hear from pastors in remote areas who thank us for the solid preaching and teaching because it encourages them to keep on keeping on.

Every day we pray for those who hear the message of hope that God is sovereign and He can be trusted.
