Ultimate Sacrifice Endeavor
In honor of the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, MARKINC sent packages of hope to the Next of Kin for every casualty of the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars. The packages contained The Ultimate Sacrifice audio resource and a personalized note from Chuck and Sharon Betters. More than 6,200 notes were written, envelopes 
were labeled, and packages were stuffed by a team of volunteers who were dedicated to MARKINC’s mission to extend God’s help and hope to those that are hurting. It was a long day of work, but was filled with fellowship and a shared commitment to pray for the families that would receive those packages of hope. This monumental project was completely funded by volunteers who also committed to pray for each family that was impacted by their generosity.
More than 6,200 flags were placed on the lawn in front of Glasgow Church, a flag to represent each person that gave their lives for their country since the tragedy of 9/11. It was a sobering yet impressive display that drew lots of attention from the local community, as well as local and regional media. A moving service on Sunday, September 11th was filled with remembrance, respect, and honor, and culminated with prayer over the packages that would be mailed the following day. The response from families who received them was immediate and continues, and it is clear that God is at work as a result of the endeavor.
