About This Ministry
What will make this site different from many other wonderful web links developed just for women? This is a place where women of faith will be challenged to think biblically and live covenantally through the intentional practice of biblical encouragement in their homes, churches, neighborhoods, and workplaces.
People live their lives by pushing every thought through a grid that results in their actions. Women who visit this site will be challenged to push their thoughts through the grid of Scripture. When they intentionally think biblically, their lives will become channels of God’s compassion. Seeing and living life through the grid of Scripture equips us for God’s calling to "encourage one another (Hebrews 10:25b)." There is an urgency in the writer’s words when he continues, "…and all the more as you see the Day approaching."
I learned the critical need for God’s people to obey this command when we lost our sixteen-year-old son, Mark, in a car accident. The way the family of God supported us convinced me that God’s plan for comforting and strengthening His broken children is through the intentional, practical encouragement of His people. No one could fix our broken hearts, but the consistent regular encouragement of His people helped turn our hearts toward the only One Who could.
And that is the purpose of biblical encouragement – to turn hearts toward our Father in Heaven, the God of all Encouragement. This site is designed for women of faith because God created women with an innate ability to nurture others as they connect and cultivate community in their circles of influence. This site will not only encourage women to walk by faith in their own circumstances but it will help equip women's ministry leaders to plan and execute women's programs through the grid of Scripture. You will find practical ideas for programs as well as a biblical framework for "doing ministry." Our goal is that many women will learn how to be channels of God's compassion as they intentionally connect with other women and deliberately cultivate community as a means to reflect the character of Christ in a world that desperately needs tangible encouragement to trust Him as Savior.
We hope you will help us make this a premier web site for women's ministry in the church. And to show our appreciation for your assistance, we'll send you our own thank you gift, either a Treasures of Encouragement Annual Planner or a CD from our Learning to See When the Lights Go Out series. So browse our contents and be sure to sign up for our monthly eMagazine. Then think of friends who would appreciate knowing about the Treasures of Encouragement resource and send them a personalized invitation to join! And finally, let us know how we can help you to be a biblical encourager in the pathway God has marked out for you.
In His grip,
