Before I married my husband, the

 benefits from my teaching position were very insufficient, especially having been a divorced parent of two. I had to pay the full price for every prescription and that became quite expensive with the cost of pharmaceuticals being what they are. I also remember being told that my older son’s oral surgery would be covered under my health insurance, only to learn that I would be responsible for both the doctor’s bill and the hospital costs. I was always struggling to pay the medical expenses that accumulated as a result of illness or injury.

Marriage has changed my benefits problem dramatically! I have inherited an excellent dental and medical health insurance plan because of my changed relationship to the man who is now my husband.

Recently, I called to schedule a doctor’s appointment as a new patient, and as I gave my health insurance credentials to the receptionist, I was immediately informed that my office visit would be covered. Needless to say, I was reminded of how blessed I am to have such coverage with medical costs skyrocketing all the time.

When I “married” Jesus Christ, I inherited benefits that are “out of this world!” Although I must now see the doctor for my aches and pains, the time will come when this will not be necessary because I will receive an incorruptible body. The need for prescription plans will be come obsolete as will dental plans, and all provided by my heavenly Father through the shed blood of His Son. Life insurance will become a thing of the past because the day I received Christ as my personal savior, I became an heir of soul insurance!

How wonderful it is to know that that I can enjoy God’s wonderful benefits both now and forevermore---all because of my relationship to Him!

Prayer: Father, you leave no stone unturned as you provide your children with all things richly to enjoy. The greatest of all the benefits we inherit from you is the gift of salvation, and your amazing “spandex grace” which wonderfully sustains us as we move heavenward. May we not only use your benefits, but also rejoice that you make them available to us at all times. We thank you that we are fully covered under your unique and wonderful benefits plan. Amen.

Encouragement Tip: When God orders the goods, He will always pay the bill. No matter what happens in your life, God will never lead you where His “Spandex Grace” cannot twist and turn, bend and curve to sustain you.
