Give Peace a Chance

Sharon Betters

Sharon BettersAre you struggling with a difficult relationship? Perhaps extending small acts of encouragement will break through the barriers and become a bridge for honest, gentle rebuilding. Jesus is the lasting solution for lasting peace. Reflect His love to those difficult people in your life, no matter what their response. In fact, don't define the "right" response, just know you are walking in obedience and leave the impact to your faithful God.

  1. Write a note or letter telling that difficult person what you particularly value about her or him.
  2. Ask your parents to tell your children about their childhood. Grandparents will feel appreciated!
  3. Call an old friend to see how she is. Just because.
  4. Call home and leave a loving message on your answering machine for your spouse.
  5. Give a child a classic book. Take the child to the park once a week and read two chapters until the book is finished. A great idea for a grandmother!
