Ask a leader in a church ministry what his or her needs are, books, equipment, refreshments? As a family project, start a fund to purchase these items and give them as an act of your love for Jesus and the ministry leader.

Offer to be extra hands in the church nursery or a Sunday School class. Serve as an act of love for Jesus and the children.

Help an elderly widow with cleaning, shopping, yard work, house repairs. Tell her your service is an act of love for Jesus and her.

Tuck love notes into sock or bureau drawers of family members. Jot at the bottom of the note, "This is a demonstration of my love for Jesus and you."

Watch someone's children for a day so that the mom and her husband can spend the time together. Tell her your love for Jesus and her compelled you to serve her in this way.

Every morning, practice asking God to reveal to you some small way you can be a channel of His compassion with specific acts of love offered in His name.
