In response to your request to know what others are doing for the Katrina victims I thought I'd tell you what we did/are doing here at Donelson Fellowship in Nashville. My son-in-law, Steve is our children's pastor and he had me seek out a hotel which was housing families. We found one with 9 families and "adopted them". The hotel provides breakfast and the rooms have dishes, microwaves, refrigerators and 2 burner stoves. We gathered food and the hotel has been cooking bulk meals for these families. The church took up a needs list from each family and we just went and got what they needed. It has been amazing. Some have been able to return home and some are still here and have gotten jobs. 2 Families work for Bell South and were given jobs and housing money. The Hilton (Parent company of Homewood Suites) has helped with housing. Many families have relocated or are still temporarily here as their companies had offices here. In the midst of all of this we have been able to share our faith in ways that we never imagined.
