Dr. Betters,

Because my coworkers know I attend church regularly and have some Bible knowledge they often come to me with their questions.  I can usually do fine with areas of doctrine or the gospel message, but I always seem to fall short when it comes to specific details from the OT.  I guess it's because I have questions in these areas myself and often lack belief when Biblical accounts seem to contradict logic or scientific reasoning.  The question I got yesterday is from a woman who I discipled a few years ago while going through the Purpose Driven Life together.  She is now reading Genesis and cannot understand how Cain, being the son of Adam and Eve could have gone to the land of Nod and found a wife.  Where did this other people group come from?  I really hate it when people become hung up on the minutiae and ignore the teaching, but I feel it is important for me to be prepared with an answer so I can be there when a question of  real import comes my way.  Thanks for taking the time to answer me.

Adam and Eve lived for over 900 years and procreated many children who procreated children etc. They migrated to different parts of the then known world which was really fairly small. I hope this helps.
