From Misery to Mercy to Ministry, Into

But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere. For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things?

2 Corinthians 2:14-16

Dear Friends,

Read Today’s Treasure and revel with me in this truth: “…we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.” Whether we came to know Jesus as children or after years of making bad choices, our calling as His children stands. He planted His DNA into our hearts and every day thereafter, we have the privilege of working out our resemblance to Him. It’s a marathon, not a sprint! Cling to this amazing passage and have confidence that the good work He began in you, He will finish.

This week we will focus on how God has moved His children from misery to mercy and how we can be a life giving fragrance that offers His salvation to others in our village. When the light of Jesus shines in us, He moves us from misery to mercy to ministry.

As I write this message, the song, “Your Grace is Enough” keeps playing in my heart, especially this verse:

Great is your love and justice God

You use the weak to lead the strong

You lead us in the song of your salvation

And all your people sing along

Your grace is enough

Your grace is enough

Your grace is enough for me.

For an extra blessing, Google the song, “Your Grace is Enough” and let the entire message encourage you as you look for ways to encourage others with the grace He has given to you.

Treasured by Him,

Read 1 Peter 2:9-12 and personalize the words Peter uses to describe a child of God.

Example: Sharon is chosen by God, a member of the royal priesthood and holy nation. Sharon belongs to God. Soak up what each of these descriptive words mean for you.
