Dr. Charles F. Betters, Founder
Chuck’s passion for building a spiritual legacy is reflected in his commitment to preaching through the Scriptures unapologetically for 40+ years. When the death of his sixteen-year-old son Mark confronted him with life’s hardest questions, he transparently tackled those hard doctrines and painful places of life. Out of the grief of his family, MARKINC Ministries was established as a means to offer help and hope to hurting people. He continues to engage the spiritual needs of people through the MARKINC Ask Dr. Better’s Video series.
Sharon Betters, Co-Founder
Sharon is a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, pastor’s wife, and cofounder of MARKINC Ministries, where she is the Director of Resource Development. Sharon is the author of several books, including Treasures of Encouragement, Treasures in Darkness, and co-author with Susan Hunt of Aging with Grace. She is the co-host of the Help & Hope podcast and writes Daily Treasure, an online devotional.
CeCe Babbitt
CeCe is Vice President and Human Resources /Marketing Director of Burke Equipment Company. Prior to that, she was Executive Director of Student Enrollment and Registrar at Wesley College, Secondary School Social Studies Instructor at Polytech High School, and the PEAK Program at Delaware Tech Community College.
Pastor Bill Schlonecker
Bill is a graduate of Philadelphia College of Bible (1979 – now Cairn University) and Dallas Theological Seminary (1984). Upon receiving his Th.M. from Dallas Seminary, Bill became “church planter” and “organizing pastor” of the new Bible Fellowship Church being planted in Newark, Delaware in July 1984. His wife, Pat, suddenly passed away in September 2016, leaving him to discover deeply that Jesus is indeed our Strength and Sufficiency in the brokenness of this world. He has four grown daughters, three sons-in law, five granddaughters, and one grandson. His desire is to “finish well” in life and ministry, entrusting his future to our altogether good and faithful God.
Marcla Ellison
Marcla is a retired 7th grade science teacher. She taught for 32 years. Since retiring, Marcla has served on Heathergreen Commons Board since 2004 and continues to serve as a BSF (Bible Study Fellowship International) group leader (since 2004).
Susan Haggerty
Susan graduated from Goucher College with a BS in Economics, 1975. Certified Public Accountant, not active. Twenty-two-year career in non-profit education accounting. Was the owner/operator of a small ice cream shop for 5 years after left the accounting profession. Currently, I help my husband, George, with his rental properties.
I have two adopted children from Chile (my son is deceased) and two stepchildren and six step grandchildren. I enjoy golfing, the beach, gardening and hunting.
Christopher Williams
Christopher is the CEO of Serenity Care Resources LLC. Serenity is a local Licensed Homecare Agency that serves the greater Philadelphia and surrounding area. He is a 2008 graduate of Rosemont College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. Christopher lives a life of dedicated service and desires to see lives changed and souls saved by the power of Jesus Christ. He has served in several capacities and on multiple ministries including New Members Ministry President, Ministerial Alliance Member & Next Steps Team Member. Christopher enjoys spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ through dedicated service to the Lord with a deep compassion to people. Christopher currently serves at the Journey Church in Newark Delaware on the Plugged in team assisting new and returning Christians with finding their place in ministry.
Christopher is a husband and father of two daughters. He enjoys the arts, a good movie at the cinema, traveling, and is a loyal Philadelphia Eagles fan.
Heidi Nequist
Heidi is married to Greg and together they have five children and one grandchild. Heidi and her family love to boat, travel in their RV, spend time with their horses, and care for their home on the Elk River. Heidi is a Realtor, licensed in three states and one of the team leaders for her business. Heidi grew up in the church which led her into many different places where she used her faith to minister to all different people. Loss, hurting people, grief, pain, anger, bitterness, and then hope and joy are the things that just made sense to Heidi because of the people she walked with through their pain, and also through her own. Working through the process of understanding that her relationship with Jesus was personal, and not because of a church building, took a long time; but has proven to continue to be that thing that brings internal joy, despite all other circumstances. Karen Feeley
Karen is a graduate of the University of Delaware where she studied to become a Physical Therapist. She earned an additional degree in Mortuary Science and Funeral Service from The American Academy McAllister Institute in New York City. Karen is a Licensed Funeral Director and owner of Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home. The Strano & Feeley team has lovingly served the community with excellence since 1997. Karen is also the co-founder of “Face the Facts”, an outreach program to assist those struggling with many aspects of addiction. She enjoys reading, writing, boating, pickleball, DIY projects, and the beach. Karen is grateful to have a strong network of family and friends, especially the joy of her daughter Jillian.
